There were only a couple surfers out at Devereux on 2/24/08 due to the large sized waves.  One of the surfers broke his leash and was bobbing out there in the big surf at the point.  A rescue team was called in to help him.  Here you can see two rescue swimmers getting ready to get in the water and a helicopter searching the water.
