This set of three sunset photos were taken from a vantage point of the Sandpiper Golf Course which is located on the coastline of the Pacific Ocean in Goleta, California (near Santa Barbara).  I took these three pictures as the sun set over the ocean.  It's interesting to see how the scene changes as the sun dips lower on the horizon.  It was a very calm and surreal experience. I felt like I was the only person on the face of the earth.  The pier that can be scene off in the distance is the Ellwood pier owned by Venoco
