A decent swell hit Southern California the weekend of Dec. 12th.  A group of about five surfers were out at Coal Oil Point just north of Isla Vista near the UCSB campus.  Some of the waves rolling in were easily ten feet high with some even bigger.  This wave rolled in on the "Sands" side of the point.  There wasn't anyone out there trying to surf in this area, but I bet this wave was close to 15 feet high.
