I don't know what it is about these windmills that fascinates me so, but I am always drawn to them.  These windmills dot the pastures and fields of the Santa Ynez Valley.  I believe the windmills are used to pump water from the ground into the adjacent holding tanks.  I really like this photo because it's obvious that this setup is no longer functional, due to the large gaping hole in the side of the tank. .
